It has been a great week! Benjamin is eating like a champion and really loving his high chair. Which is great for me, gives my back a little break. It was like he was ready to eat. He opens his mouth and leans forward for me. He had no problem swallowing his food, never spit anything out once. He eats carrots, squash, apples, and the other day I put some sugar free Jello in front of him to eat and showed him how he can put it in his mouth. Since he puts everything in his mouth I thought that he would have no problem grabbing and eating it himself, but not once did he put the jello in his mouth. However, he did play with it until it was pure water. I hope Nona is ready for sticky floors!!
He is also sitting and playing by himself. He still tends to fall over now and then but for the most part he sits by himself. The other day he was on all fours and all of the sudden I look over and he put his leg underneath his butt and sat his little self down, all on his own! Its amazing how from one week to the other he has mastered something new. Next step, crawling!
Since it is Summer here and really hot Santa got Benji his own little pool to play in, and boy does he love it. He loves the water. Maybe he will be my little San Diego Surfer boy!
As for Diego and I we are great. I am so excited about our trip to the states that I can't stand it. Its really overwhelming and I dont know why. Diego on the other hand is nervous. He doesn't really enjoy flying and neither of us know what to expect with our 6 month old. We will just have to wait and see if he is like us and hates flying or behaves like the first time on the plane and sleeps the whole 18 hours. Now wouldn't that be fantastic! Although this week Diego and I did have a relaxing night. We treated ourselves to one of our guilty pleasures, Sushi. Its expensive here so its not something we get to do all the time, but we really drank some good wine and enjoyed ourselves. I think its something we need to do a little more often. But overall we are happy and healthy, so I couldn't ask for anything more.
And last but not least our celebration of new years as a new family. We really had a great start to 2012, filled with Fireworks, which Benji surprisingly loved, lots of food, and a family kiss at midnight. I got a great video of the fireworks and Benji's reaction to them which I will have to upload and post when I have more time. Probably not this week since I will be busy packing and getting ready for our trip to see my family. But I will be sure to do it as soon as I can. Well, we hope to see most of you who follow up with us real soon! My brother's wedding is only 12 days away and we are so excited to be all together again, The whole Avila Lusby clan is really missed and we are only 5 days away. Hugs and Kisses everyone!!
