So.... I am suppose to be in Argentina right now, eating morcilla, seeing my new home for the first time, visiting my in-laws after being gone for 4 months, and strutting my little blonde hair blue eyed prince around town. But on Wednesday I had unplanned surgery on the right side of my chest and now have to stay in good ol' Lemoore for at least 2 more weeks. This is a bitter sweet thing for my mom since she gets to see Benji for a bit longer, but has to clean my wound twice a day and help me a lot around the house since I am not breastfeeding right now. We don't really know what happened to my chest and we might never know. I do get results back tomorrow, which might answer some questions and hopefully allow me to reschedule my flight back home. I really miss Diego.
Diego has been cleaning our new place, painting, and buying furniture. Luckily, I have a very tasteful husband, probably more tasteful than I am. The house is close enough to his parents' house that I can walk, and right around the corner from his Dad's work. This is super comforting if I ever have an emergency. As soon as I get there I will post pictures.
As for Benjamin, he's packing on the pounds. Ever since I had to start feeding him formula he has been getting fatter and sleeping better.I might just stick to this bottle feeding; although, pumping isn't the most fun thing in the world. He is also starting to smile a lot and get distracted a little easier. At first I was a bit jealous that Diego was sleeping through the night, but now I feel bad that he has to go a month without seeing Benji, especially since his belly laughs are the best thing in the world.
Well, now we are just waiting to be together again. I am hoping by my birthday!
