Proverbs 13:24

Another week and more reasons not to live here added to the list. Ok, I don't really have a list, but I wish I did; maybe then I would win the battle with Diego. I tend to forget the reasons when we talk about moving to the States. We start talking and I always think, "ok, I know I have more reasons than just that one... let me think." So this week the reason added to the list was spankings. Nope, they don't spank here in this country. You never see a mother take her child off to the side when he or she is being a big fat brat and give him or her a nice little talking to accompanied by a little swat on the butt. It's not like I am looking forward to giving Benjamin spankings or anything, in fact, I hope I never have to. I hope he is my perfect little prince, but I highly doubt it. But if one day I do have to give him a spanking, I am not going to wait to get to the house to give him one. I am going to spank his butt right where we are otherwise it doesn't mean anything. The lesson will not be learned. Although you know what is going to happen when I give him that spanking right where we are at? They are going to look at me as if I am the worse mother in the world. Well, let them think that. The other night I actually thanked my mom for spanking me. I realized that no one here has respect for their mother the way that me and my siblings do. It is not necessarily from the spankings alone, but my parents teaching me at a young age that you will be respectful, nice, loving, you will share, and so on and so on or you will pay the consequences. Whether that be being grounded and not being able to go out or no cell phone or a good spanking. Therefore now as an adult, it is natural for me to continue to act appropriately. If you have ever seen the movie Crazy Beautiful there is a part where Nicole(Kirsten Dunst) says, "What is that yes sir, no sir crap, you don't have to do that," and Carlos(Jay Hernandez) responds, "Thats how I was raised, its not just some act." Which is totally true. We are as adults, how we were raised as children.
Ok, I have babbled on enough.
Sorry for the photos this week, there aren't very many. Although the comparison photos that I promised last week are up so you can all see how Big Benji is!!

Benjamin at his doctors appointment for the month weighed in at 12lbs 7oz. He gained one and half pounds in 4 weeks, woo hoo!! He always grew 3/4 of an inch, and is no at 24 1/2 inches. The Doctor said that most babies grow 10 inches in their first year. Benjamin has already grown 4 1/2 inches since birth. If he continues like this, he will be just like his Daddy, Tall!!!
